Aspen Heights British School Achieves Exceptional Results in Creative Thinking and Financial Literacy - Aspen Heights British School

Aspen Heights British School is celebrating outstanding outcomes in the most recent international PISA assessment, with our students performing at a level significantly higher than peers across Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE. These results highlight our commitment to developing confident, future-ready learners who can think creatively, act responsibly, and apply their knowledge in real-life contexts.

Creative Thinking: Performance at Level 5 – Well Above National and Emirate Averages

In Creative Thinking, Aspen Heights achieved an impressive mean score of 45.1, placing students at Proficiency Level 5, one of the highest performance categories. This far exceeds both the Abu Dhabi private school average of 31.9 and the UAE national average of 28.0, both of which sit at Level 3.

The report shows that 80% of Aspen students performed at the High proficiency levels (Levels 5 and 6), a remarkable achievement demonstrating strong creative idea generation, evaluation, and problem-solving. Students also expressed positive beliefs and habits that support creativity. These behaviours reflect high levels of curiosity, imagination, persistence, and collaboration, all key characteristics of successful creative thinkers.

Financial Literacy: High Achievement at Level 5

Aspen Heights also performed exceptionally well in Financial Literacy, achieving a mean score of 630.6, placing students at Proficiency Level 5, the highest band. This far surpasses the Abu Dhabi private school average of 474.4 (Level 2) and the UAE national average of 441.0 (Level 2). Students at this level can analyse complex financial information, understand long-term financial implications, interpret detailed documents, and make informed decisions confidently.

The report findings further highlight strong financial understanding and independence:

  • All Aspen students learned how to manage money at school, whether through a dedicated lesson or embedded in other subjects.
  • Students demonstrated high levels of personal responsibility, with all agreeing they could decide how to spend their own money.
  • Learners also showed confidence in digital financial tasks such as electronic payments, tracking balances, and planning spending.

These results affirm the impact of Aspen Heights’ curriculum in preparing students to navigate real-world financial situations with confidence.

A School Culture That Builds Future-Ready Learners

Across both domains, students demonstrated strong creative self-belief, openness to new ideas, confidence in financial decision-making, and a collaborative mind-set. These attributes reflect the strength of Aspen Heights’ nurturing environment, skilled teaching, and commitment to holistic growth.

The results also mirror the wider values of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), which emphasises life competencies in terms of personal development, and readiness for the future.

Looking Ahead

We are incredibly proud of our students’ performance in these globally recognised assessments. Their achievements reflect resilience, hard work, and the dedication of our teaching team. Aspen Heights will continue to build on these strengths, ensuring every learner develops the skills and confidence needed to thrive.
