Back to School at Aspen Heights British School Abu Dhabi

A new academic year has begun, and the excitement on campus is unmistakable. At Aspen Heights British School, part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), students returned this August to classrooms buzzing with energy, friendships rekindled, and plenty of new opportunities ahead. Our school continues to be a trusted choice for families in Abu Dhabi, where confidence grows and every child grows with Aspen.

A Message from the Principal

Our new principal Miss Gillian Hammond is really looking forward to an amazing year. She said: “There’s a real sense of excitement and purpose as we begin the new academic year at Aspen Heights British School. During our staff induction, our talented teachers came together to share innovative strategies that ensure learning remains engaging, relevant, and personalised for every student. We were especially proud to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our Year 11 and Year 13 students with their families—100% of our graduates secured places at their first or second choice universities. As we welcomed back returning students and a large number of new joiners, the enthusiasm on campus was tangible. Our new Padel Courts, multi-purpose Sports Hall, and a second bespoke swimming pool for primary students reflect our deep commitment to wellbeing and holistic education where students and staff thrive. With the thoughtful integration of AI and management of personal devices, and a strong emphasis on digital balance, our students have settled into school life with energy and positivity”.

Community Voices

The start of term is not just about new books and timetables — it’s about the people who make our school community special. One of our students and one of our parents also shared their happiness of coming back to Aspen:

  • “I am so excited to see my friends again- and all of us LOVE our new Padel Court, we cannot wait to play together and challenge each other to matches.” – [Lola, Year 10]
  • “Coming back to Aspen after the summer feels just like coming home. The teachers and staff always make the start of term feel warm and welcoming. It’s reassuring to know our children are supported and taken care of.”  – [Parent of Qais and Zaina]

Looking Ahead

The 2025–26 academic year is set to be an exciting one. Families can look forward to highlights such as our Family Quiz Night, Fruits and Vegetables Dress Up Day, and Pink Week. Beyond events, our ongoing focus is to ensure every student not only achieves academically but also grows as a confident, well-rounded individual.
